GoodLeap Homeowner App Terms of Service
Effective Date: July 1, 2026
Acceptance
These Terms govern your use of the following features in the GoodLeap Homeowner App, operated by GoodLeap, LLC ("GoodLeap"): (a) Home Improvement Projects — a home improvement contractor referral service; (b) Home Troubleshooter — an AI-powered home troubleshooting and account information chat; and (c) Home Energy Insights — personalized energy data and home improvement recommendations. By using any of these features, you agree to these Terms. These Terms supplement but do not replace any separate GoodLeap financing agreement. You must be at least 18 years of age and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use the Covered Products. If you do not meet these requirements, do not use the Covered Products.
Home Improvement Projects
GoodLeap is not a contractor. GoodLeap connects you with home improvement contractors in our network who are required to maintain applicable licenses where required by law. GoodLeap does not perform, supervise, or warrant any home improvement work. GoodLeap's role is limited to collecting your project interest, referring that information to a contractor in our network, and facilitating an introduction. Any home improvement contract is solely between you and the contractor.
Contractor selection. GoodLeap's Concierge team selects one contractor from our network. GoodLeap may receive compensation in connection with contractor referrals, which may influence which contractors are presented to you; see Section 5 for GoodLeap's compensation disclosure. GoodLeap does not guarantee a match will always be available. Contractors in our network are required to maintain applicable licenses where required by law; you should verify any contractor's license with your state's applicable licensing authority before entering into any contract.
GoodLeap financing is not required. Use of Projects is not conditioned on obtaining GoodLeap financing. Contractors are prohibited from making GoodLeap financing a condition of their services.
By submitting a project request, you consent to GoodLeap sharing your name, contact information, and project details with the matched contractor, and to being contacted by GoodLeap's Concierge team and the matched contractor by phone, email, or text about your project. The in-app consent screen presented at submission captures consent for communications from both GoodLeap’s Concierge team and the matched contractor in connection with your project. Consent to receive calls or texts is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services or obtaining financing. The matched contractor remains independently responsible for TCPA compliance in connection with any outreach it makes beyond the scope of the consent you provide at submission. To stop receiving text messages from GoodLeap, reply STOP to any text message from GoodLeap.
Home Troubleshooter
General information only. The Home Troubleshooter provides general information about your GoodLeap account, loan, and home repair and maintenance. It does not provide professional diagnosis, licensed contractor services, or engineering assessments, and does not make decisions about your loan or account. Nothing the Home Troubleshooter says replaces the judgment of a licensed professional or the terms of any agreement or disclosure you have received from GoodLeap.
Operational limits. The Home Troubleshooter will not provide: loan modification decisions, payoff quotes, or binding account determinations (contact GoodLeap customer support for those); legal or financial advice; or guidance on electrical systems, gas lines, or structural elements beyond directing you to stop and contact a licensed professional. If you describe an urgent safety condition, the Troubleshooter will direct you to emergency services or a licensed professional and will not attempt further diagnosis.
Safety. If you observe any of the following — smoke, burning or electrical odors, sparking, gas or propane smell, a CO alarm, active flooding, ceiling bulge, or structural instability — stop using the Home Troubleshooter immediately. Call 911 or your local utility if it is an emergency and contact a licensed professional.
Recording. Chat conversations may be recorded, transcribed, stored, reviewed, and used to improve the Home Troubleshooter by GoodLeap and its service providers, in accordance with our GoodLeap Home Features Privacy Notice [link]. Before your first chat session, GoodLeap will present you with a separate in-app notice that you must affirmatively acknowledge before the session begins.
Third-party referrals. The Home Troubleshooter may refer you to third-party platforms (including contractor directories and product retailers) to help you find services or products. See Section 5 for GoodLeap's compensation disclosure.
Photo upload. The Home Troubleshooter does not currently support photo or image uploads.
Home Energy Insights
Utility account linking. Home Energy Insights requires you to connect your utility account through a third-party data provider. By linking, you authorize GoodLeap and its data service providers to access your utility account data to generate personalized energy insights. In addition to utility data, GoodLeap uses property information for your home address obtained from third-party data sources to generate insights, as further described in our GoodLeap Home Features Privacy Notice [link]. Your data is handled in accordance with our GoodLeap Home Features Privacy Notice [link].
Estimates are informational. Energy usage data, bill projections, savings estimates, and home improvement recommendations are estimates based on utility interval data, rate schedules, and publicly available property records. They are not guarantees. Actual bills, savings, and outcomes will vary.
Project and affiliate links. Insights may include links to GoodLeap home improvement project flows or to third-party platforms. See Section 5 for GoodLeap's compensation disclosure.
Compensation Disclosure
GoodLeap may receive compensation from third parties — including contractors, affiliate product and service platforms, and other partners — in connection with referrals, links, or transactions that originate from any feature covered by these Terms, including Projects, Home Troubleshooter, and Home Energy Insights. We aim to ensure that referrals and guidance reflect relevant criteria, but compensation relationships may exist and may influence which contractors, products, or services are presented to you. GoodLeap does not receive compensation based on whether you choose to finance through GoodLeap. GoodLeap will disclose any ownership or common-control relationship with a matched contractor at the time of matching.
Data and Privacy
Your personal information collected through these features is subject to the GoodLeap Home Features Privacy Notice [link] (governing these features) and GoodLeap's Privacy Notice [link] (governing GoodLeap's financial products and services), each incorporated herein by reference. GoodLeap complies with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) (Cal. Civ. Code §§ 1798.100 et seq.). To exercise your privacy rights, contact privacy@goodleap.com. Affiliate marketplace recommendations within the Covered Products redirect you to third-party retailer websites; GoodLeap does not share your personal information with those retailers for cross-context behavioral advertising. GoodLeap recognizes the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. See the GoodLeap Home Features Privacy Notice for additional detail on your privacy rights.
No Warranty; Limitation of Liability
THESE FEATURES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS." GOODLEAP MAKES NO WARRANTY REGARDING THE QUALITY OR COMPLETION OF ANY CONTRACTOR'S WORK, THE ACCURACY OF AI-GENERATED HOME REPAIR GUIDANCE, THE AVAILABILITY OF A CONTRACTOR MATCH, OR THE ACCURACY OF ANY ENERGY DATA, COST ESTIMATES, OR SAVINGS PROJECTIONS. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GOODLEAP IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY ACTS OR OMISSIONS OF ANY CONTRACTOR OR THIRD-PARTY PLATFORM, FOR RELIANCE ON AI-GENERATED GUIDANCE, OR FOR ANY INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM USE OF THESE FEATURES. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS GOODLEAP'S LIABILITY FOR ITS OWN FRAUD, WILLFUL MISCONDUCT, OR VIOLATION OF APPLICABLE LAW. THE LIMITATIONS IN THIS SECTION APPLY ONLY TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW AND DO NOT LIMIT ANY NON-WAIVABLE STATUTORY RIGHTS, ANY CONSUMER PROTECTION REMEDIES THAT CANNOT BE WAIVED BY PRIVATE AGREEMENT, OR LIABILITY FOR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY GOODLEAP'S NEGLIGENCE WHERE SUCH LIMITATION IS PROHIBITED BY APPLICABLE LAW.
Dispute Resolution
Informal resolution. Contact GoodLeap at the address in Section 9 before initiating any formal proceeding. GoodLeap will make reasonable efforts to address your concern informally within 30 days of receiving your written notice.
Binding arbitration. Except as provided below, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Covered Products (“Dispute”) will be resolved by binding arbitration administered by JAMS under its Consumer Arbitration Minimum Standards and Consumer Arbitration Rules, before a single neutral arbitrator. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this agreement to arbitrate. The arbitrator’s award is final and binding and may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction. Arbitration hearings will be conducted by telephone or video conference unless both parties agree otherwise or the arbitrator orders an in-person hearing. If an in-person hearing is ordered, you may elect to hold it in Sacramento, California, in the county of your primary residence, or by remote means if available under the applicable JAMS rules.
Class action waiver. ALL PROCEEDINGS WILL BE CONDUCTED ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS. YOU WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY CLASS, COLLECTIVE, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. If the class action waiver in this section is found unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction for any reason, then this entire arbitration provision will be null and void and the Dispute will be resolved in court.
Opt-out right. You may opt out of this arbitration provision within 30 days of the date you first accept these Terms by sending written notice to arbitration-optout@goodleap.com with your name, the email address associated with your GoodLeap account, and a clear statement that you wish to opt out of arbitration. Opting out does not affect any other provision of these Terms or your right to use the Covered Products.
Fees. GoodLeap will pay all JAMS filing, administrative, and arbitration fees for any Dispute you bring in good faith that does not exceed $10,000, unless the arbitrator determines your claim is frivolous. For Disputes over $10,000, JAMS fee allocation rules apply. GoodLeap will not seek an award of attorneys’ fees or costs against you unless the arbitrator finds your claim frivolous.
Mass arbitration. If 75 or more similar Disputes are filed against GoodLeap by individuals represented by the same or coordinating counsel, the JAMS Mass Arbitration Procedures and Guidelines (available at jamsadr.com/mass-arbitration-procedures) will apply. Each claimant’s counsel must provide a sworn declaration attesting to the accuracy of each filed demand.
Exceptions. Either party may seek emergency injunctive or other provisional relief in court pending arbitration. Small claims court claims within that court’s jurisdiction may be brought individually without arbitration. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking public injunctive relief in court as permitted by applicable law, including California law. Nothing in this section limits either party’s right to seek relief that cannot be waived by private agreement under applicable federal or state law.
Severability. If any provision of this arbitration section other than the class action waiver is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be severed and the remaining provisions will continue in full force. If the class action waiver is found unenforceable, this entire arbitration section is void as provided above.
General
These Terms are governed by California law. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the GoodLeap Home Features Privacy Notice regarding the collection, use, or sharing of personal information, the Privacy Notice controls. GoodLeap may update these Terms and will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Continued use after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance, except that GoodLeap will seek your affirmative consent before implementing any change that requires consent under applicable law.
