GoodLeap GoodGrid
The GoodGrid program connects residential battery systems to utility, grid operator, and state-run programs that support grid reliability. During grid events (“Events”), batteries in GoodGrid may discharge to support the electric grid.
The GoodGrid program is optional if you own your battery or if you are required to take any actions (such as signing up with a utility company). If you have a Lease or Power Purchase Agreement from GoodLeap, any associated battery may be automatically enrolled in the GoodGrid program as outlined in your agreement.
GoodLeap may receive compensation from utilities or grid operators for enrolling the battery and participating in grid Events.
How GoodGrid Dispatch Works
A GoodGrid Event may be triggered when grid demand is high, an ISO calls for support, or emergency reliability events occur.
GoodLeap or its authorized partners may:
Discharge the battery
Adjust charging schedules
Export stored energy to the grid
Optimize battery performance in accordance with local rules
In order to participate in GoodGrid, you must:
Maintain active internet connectivity
Allow required monitoring and remote scheduling
Not disable or interfere with battery functionality
Maintain authorizations or utility enrollments (as needed)
Batteries enrolled in GoodGrid will not be discharged below required backup reserve unless permitted by applicable program specifications. No minimum or maximum number of dispatch events are guaranteed. Refer to the terms and conditions of your local program for additional information.

Is participation in GoodGrid required?
If you have a Lease or Power Purchase Agreement from GoodLeap and no additional action is required on your part, the battery associated with your system may be automatically enrolled in the GoodGrid program as outlined in your agreement.
If you own or are financing a battery, you may voluntarily enroll in GoodGrid programs available in your area. Each program has its own rules and registration requirements. Refer to the terms and conditions of your local program for additional information.
Does participating in GoodGrid change financing payments?
No. Participation in the GoodGrid program does not modify your obligations or payments due. You remain responsible for all Lease, Power Purchase Agreement, or financing payments.
How often will the Battery be dispatched?
This varies by your jurisdiction and grid needs. Refer to the terms and conditions of your program for additional information.
Can GoodLeap cancel or modify the GoodGrid program?
GoodLeap reserves the right to cancel or modify the GoodGrid program. If your GoodGrid program provides a monetary incentive to participate this may be withheld if you default on your agreement with GoodLeap, disconnect the battery, fail to maintain connectivity, or revoke required program permissions.
Does GoodGrid participation affect my tax incentives?
GoodLeap cannot provide tax advice and recommends that you consult a tax advisor with any questions about taxes or the federal Investment Tax Credit.
What data does GoodLeap collect?
GoodLeap collects operational, metering, and enrollment-related data to administer the program and to comply with applicable utility requirements. All collection, use, and sharing of data is governed by the GoodLeap Privacy Policy, available at: https://www.goodleap.com/privacy
GoodLeap’s processing of personal information is subject to applicable federal and state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act and any other state consumer-privacy frameworks (if applicable), as incorporated through the GoodLeap Privacy Policy.
How do I unenroll from GoodGrid?
If you own or finance your battery, to unenroll contact GoodLeap at VPPadmin@GoodLeap.com.
If you have a Lease or Power Purchase Agreement you cannot unenroll from GoodGrid.
